Founded

The Erie Summer Festival of the Arts was founded in 1968.

Overview

Established in 1968, the Erie Summer Festival of the Arts has grown into the premier juried fine art exhibit in the region with a full demonstrating artists program, and a exciting schedule of theatre, dance, music performances, and children's arts programming

The annual festival has featured national acts such as Santana, Donnie Iris, and Chuck Mangione. Every year regional and local talent is featured at the festival that includes the Erie Philharmonic, the Erie Chamber Orchestra, Erie Civic Ballet, and the Erie Playhouse.

The Erie Summer Festival of the Arts is the only free, three-day art festival in the tri-state area. The quality of the festival makes it a unique attraction for over 25,000 visitors and culture tourists annually and has continued enthusiasm and support from community volunteers and area businesses because of its economic impact it provides to the region.

Mission

The Erie Summer Festival of the Arts is organized to promote excellence in the arts as a major way of improving and enhancing the quality of life for people of all ages within the Erie community.
